Shiny Object Syndrome – Do You Have it, and How to Cope With it?

Shiny Object Syndrome is Something We All Face at Some Stage in Our Life.

Being an entrepreneur isn’t as easy as some people make it look like. I mean, just because you’re an entrepreneur (fancy sounding word) does not mean that you’re going to get rich quick. But that’s what we’re after. Many of us have to admit that we got into the game of business because we want to make the big bucks. That, however, doesn’t happen for an entrepreneur that can’t come up with ideas that will work for their business.

Businesses need ideas to grow. And those ideas come from the minds of the entrepreneurs that started them. There are times, however, when a business owner can have too many ideas – and that’s not exactly a good thing. Sure it may seem nice to be able to stockpile a ton of ideas and keep them in your personal thought bank, but it may just be the multitude of ideas that you keep having that’s stopping you from reeling in the dough.

You want your business to grow so you keep on hatching new ideas that you think will really shoot you into the atmosphere! The problem now is that with all those ideas you’re churning out, you’re constantly fleeting to and fro towards each one of them. You don’t know where to start, you don’t know where to go next, and you certainly aren’t making solid progress. This is what we call Shiny Object Syndrome. Continue reading

Investing in Yourself by Making The Decision Today

investing in yourself

Investing in yourself is something that we thought about.  You’re probably asking did I just said that?  Yes!  I did say just that – invest in your self! Let me ask you, how important are you?  If your answer is that you are important than why aren’t investing in yourself?

Take a look at your life right now and what do you see? Are you leading a mediocre life, a not so good life? If you are then let me tell you now that it doesn’t have to be this way. You probably came into such a life because of your family’s current condition; you’re living a life based on what you have been handed down. However, I am going to tell you that you can change that.

First, you need to make a decision – a decision to make a change in your life. This is not just a decision though, it is an investment. What are you investing in? Well, you are investing in yourself, as well as those that will come after you; you are leaving a legacy. Do you really want to leave your future generations a life of mediocrity, a life of not having the comforts they should be having? Is that the legacy you want to leave?

Making an investment into your life will not just benefit you while you live because what you start now is going to pass down to future generations – to your children and your children’s children. The change you make now is a change that is going to continue on and will be the mart you leave upon the lives of the other people that will come after you have long gone from this world.

Let me tell you something though: making an investment towards changing your life isn’t going to be going down easy street. In fact, it could just be the opposite of that and you will most probably face a lot of challenges and obstacles along the way. Don’t let that discourage you though because in the end all that effort would be worth the blood, sweat and tears that you shed.

Deciding that you want to change your life is a great challenge and it seems like such an amazingly hard feat. Well, it’s a feat that is definitely worth it in the end. That is because you’re not alone in the gifts that positive energy that you bring into your life once you undergo this challenge. As I said above, you are going to be leaving behind your mark on the world – your footprint in the lives of those you care about.

Think of your family. Think of your kids. Think of your kid’s offspring. All these people are going to be affected by the decisions you make today. Maybe you blew off that job offer that you didn’t want, but that job could have made you a ton of money that your family would no longer need to live such a mediocre life. Maybe you decided that you didn’t want to take that opportunity and are now regretting that decision.

In the end it is all worth it when you work to change your life. Although it would take a major investment of your time, the rewards that come when success breaks through the walls is all worth it. You’ll be living that life you want and you’ll be leaving behind something for your family and the future generations of your family can experience as well. You’re setting the foundation today and that’s what matters.

So when are you going to start making an investment in your life? When are you going to leave your mark on the future generations that will come after you? Want to know the answer? It’s a three letter word: NOW.  Investing in yourself starts here.

Procrastination is the #1 killer of success – don’t wait – act now. It’s the only way to make a change in your life.
